Unearthed Americana

Time was, I was a roleplaying nerd and there was nobody that bugged us more than the religious right. Unlike twelve-year-old boys, they had trouble realizing that Dungeons and Dragons was just a game. This is apropos of that. I'd like to say more but I'm racing a laptop battery. (This is also going to be longer).

  • Tablet of Decalogue.
The Tablet of Decalogue is a 2’x2’x0.25’ gray stone tablet with ten lines of text engraved on once face in Common. It radiates Protection from Evil and provides a –2 bonus to all Intelligence and Wisdom checks performed by judges and schoolchildren in a 10’ radius. A larger variant of the Tablet of Decalogue is a 3’x3’x3’ cube and has a 50’ effect radius. The Tablet is non-magical for the purposes of Detect Magic.

  • Theou-Yios Fetish.
This is a painted wooden or metal statue, approximately one foot long, representing the avatar of the area’s primary deity. For every month that a Theou-Yios Fetish is kept in a special shrine constructed on the kingdom’s land, the kingdom receives a cumulative +1% to Luck checks.

  • Rood Pendant.
A small, ornate gold or silver pendant, often encrusted with precious stones and evidently meant to represent a crude wooden pole and crossbeam. It provides Protection from Evil in a 5’ radius from the wearer unless it is accidentally inverted in which case the effect is reversed and a Protection from Good aura is produced instead.

  • Shake of Robertson.
This potion provides the drinker with 18/00 strength and moves his alignment one component closer to Lawful Good. The strength bonus lasts until twilight.
